September 2007

I had my fourth and fifth supervised coaching sessions, respectively. in the sixth and eighth supervised coaching sessions! In the seventh session, I was an active observer!!

My client came  on time and we had our 15 minute laser sessions. Her main issues in both the sessions were that she was not able to work on her research paper and model for the ICA and seemed to procrastinate it!!I challenged her to complete them before we end the last and sixth session on Oct 4 and mentioned that I would give her any support she may need while doing that. Our sessions seemed to have gone well since, based on the feedback that I got from Karen, I had covered all the core competencies of ICF during the sessions!! I felt great about it. What was most satisfying was the good response from the client herself at the end of each of the sessions!!

Had my fourth session on supervised coaching on September 13, with the same client that I have had since the earlier sessions!!The session was focused on the need for her to allocate time for her personal care and I initiated the session based on the information furnished by her in the coaching preparation form!! Discussed the metaphor that I picked up in a recent article on Readers’ Digest to make a point — Life is like a Bicycle. You need to stay in balance in order to move forward and make progress!!She was able to relate it to waht was happening to her and the learning she had from it!!!ctively!!

This was the fifth session conducted by Karen and my fourth supervised coaching!! I got a good feedback from the client and also from Karen!! Karen was very prompt in sending me he official feedback form, from which I was thrilled to learn that I had used all the core competencies(listed in the ICF website) in my sessions so far!!

Two more supervised coaching sessions to go, before I get ready to make the final submissions prior to graduation!!

In this fourth supervised coaching session, I had my third supervised coaching session, followed by an oral exam.It was a relaxing and exciting session for me and the message that my class leader,Karen, conveyed in the beginning of the session, helped me reframe my thoughts on the oral exam!!She said that it was more a reflections opportunity regarding the coaching process, rather than an exam!!

The prompt feedback that I got from Karen, made my day!!I had satisfactorily completed the exam.Three down and three to go!!
